SUCH a lovely day here in the RGV! Blue skies and gentle breeze weather. Remember the old adage about not judging a book by its cover?
One need heed its wisdom.
Case in point: I had occasion to speak with a nice elderly lady of Hispanic background. With a name like Gomez or Trevino it would be a safe bet, right? I met a nice elderly lady today with the last name of Trevino.
She had a nice round gold and silver medallion. I asked her what it was. I thought it was religious in nature. She informed me that it was an Italian coin and that 2 of her sisters had a medallion like hers.
She travels to Italy when she can. It turns out her grandfather is Italian. He came over from the old country on a boat.
She has relatives in Italia and stays with them in their hotel that they inherited from their father.
She recommends Garda Lake.
Funny what you can learn from a simple conversation.
