The huge smile on Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's face said it all. The Democrats passed a bill through with a score of 219 to 212. The overhaul of the country's healthcare system took a shot of momentum with all 178 Republicans saying NAY as well as 34 Democrats who said NO in their vote.
The bill rockets to President Obama's desk to be signed into law.
The floor of the House of Representatives must have had coffee and tea spilled all over. The Tea Party swayed in its conservative ire and opposition to healthcare reform. The Coffee Party which is the opposite of the tea baggers rejoiced in its victory. Symbolically tea and coffee spillage.
Republicans had vowed to "go after" all politicians who supported the measure. Now, the nasty plots twist. All Democrats are fair game in the political season.
We will soon see if this law actually helps the regular American.
We hope that it does.
