It was June 1982 fresh out of High School and I found myself in green...at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for Basic Training! Lots of drill instructors screaming at us!
Strict! Strict. Strict. Discipline. Loads of fun that would one day manifest itself as memories!
No big deal. I grew up with a by the book father who taught us about work and family..GOD and country and responsibility and discipline!
We were out training out in the field and the drill corporal was in storytelling mode. He looked like cross between Sonny Bono and Gary Busey.
We had iced milk with our grub and then the Drill Corporal screamed the word "TWINKIES"!!!
DELICIOUS!
ALL THOSE YEARS AGO!
