THE END OF NEWSPAPERS?

IS THIS THE END OF THE MONITOR AND ALL OTHER NEWSPAPERS IN THE RIO GRANDE VALLEY?

Newspapers nation-wide have taken a beating. Lay-offs, OUT-SOURCING, falling circulation numbers, and massive losses in ad revenues have led to closure of some periodicals!

Kids who once dreamt of becoming journalists are now having second thoughts.

Think of what newspaper interns are feeling right about now! Will they have enough money to go home or have to stick it out working a non-reporter gig?

Will the Rio Grande Valley's newspapers hang in there in a much more humble mode or will they continue with their false bravado?

It has always been about the benjamins. Now it becomes even more money-focused. Falling circulation numbers have made red-faced princes of the kings of the game!

Remember that quality of service impacts profit!!! If you provide excellent service revenue will be sweet and nice instead of sour and nasty.

Word of mouth is a cost-free type of advertising. If Neighbor Bill loves the service the newspaper is providing he will speak lovingly and sweetly of it! Ah, but if Vecino Bill gets substandard and lousy service he will do the opposite!

Which do you prefer? Perfume or Poison?

STREAMLIING is surely coming.

The Rio Grande Valley IS light years away from going TOTALLY DIGITAL. WE still have folks that do not have computers.

An actual traditional newspaper is still needed. News in your hands. Pages you can turn and mark with your pen.

Journalism is not yet dead!

Put away the coffins and go to work.

PROVIDE EXCELLENT SERVICE not good service.
