BEACH TOWELS

The Coronavirus Pandemic has regulated OUR beach towels to the dark corner of OUR storage room.

WE are 80 miles away from South Padre Island, Texas. It may as well be 1000 miles miles.

Texas is ranked number 2 on the national Coronavirus chart. That is not a hit record. That is deadly and dangerous.

SPI will still be there. WE need to make sure WE will be here to one day be THERE!

Wear A Face Covering Texas!

THE IRISH PADRES

Mom is 91 years old. She lived through Segregation. When she was in elementary school kids were charged a nickle for every Spanish word they used. This was Mission, Texas in the 1930s. Down the road from our house is a small white building where the KKK would meet to decide what to do with "Mexicans".

Mom was born in Mission, Texas.

She is an American. Not to a racist.Non-White skinned people are not American is what they believe. Especially if you're of Mexican descent.

Think about how ignorant that is.

Dad was born in Mexico. He came to the U.S. in 1945 as a bracero to work. He worked in Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Texas. He became an American citizen in 1962 in West Texas where I was born in 1963. Rotan, Texas. Fisher County.

Dad remembers signs that read "No Negroes, Dogs Mexicans". 

Dad taught US to respect and love our fellow man. He taught US racism is wrong.

Pop said it is pure hate and ignorance.

WE are Roman Catholic. Mom's parish priests were Irish. They taught Mom and the rest of the youth to be strong Catolicos. They taught them to sing powerfully enough so you could be heard all over the church without being painfully loud.

The Irish padres also encouraged their flock to fight for their rights. THE IRISH DO NOT LIKE BULLIES.

The Irish padrecitos (term of endearment meaning little priests,  like calling Michael Little Mike or Mikey) were there when WE marched for the United Farmworkers union.

WE have always had Irish priests at our parish. Our Lady Of Guadalupe was blessed by their presence and powerful sermons. Social justice, faith, GOD and life were topics.

My brother remembers Father Barrett coming in to "check on the new troops" in CCD. He was pleased with the classes.

 Listening to him say Mass in Spanish with his Irish accent was beautiful.

By the 1990s Father Barrett had been sent to a huge parish in New Orleans, Louisiana. On his 25th anniversary of being a priest he elected to celebrate it at our parish because he said it reminded ihim of his parish in Ireland. The whole church was happy and in tears.

WE had Father McKenna, Father Maher, and Father Hennessey.

I encountered a racist recruit at Army basic training in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in 1982. He wanted to know why I was not in the Mexican army.He said I was not an American because of my last name and Mexican descent. I educated him. Verbally.

My brother educated racists in Camp Pendleton, California while he was in the Marine Corps in 1983.

WE were following what the Irish priests had taught US. Speak out against racism.

Little did WE know that our beloved Irish padres were preparing US to battle our community's greatest foe in Donald Trump.

WE cannot remain silent. WE will vote against Trump.

The young troops Father Barrett inspected are ready.

BIDEN/HARRIS VERSUS TRUMP/PENCE IN 2020

Donald Trump used hate to get elected president of the United States of America. He called Mexicans drug dealers and rapists.

No one cared. It did not affect them. They were not Mexicans. 

There were no nationwide street demonstrations condemning Trump's comments.

That would have destroyed Trump's campaign.

Would Americans have done nothing if Trump had called African-Americans "drug dealers and rapists"? 

There would have been massive street protests if Billionaire Bigot Trump had called African-Americans "drug dealers and rapists". Trump's run for the White House would have been dead in the water!

It did not affect Americans if Trump picked on the lowly Mexican.

Trump was going to make America great again!  Why let the horrible Mexicans get in the way?

Trump became president. He then went after the LGBTQ Community, African-Americans, Asians, Muslims, Central American asylum seekers, the press and anyone that dared oppose him!

Let  US not forget Trump caged children at OUR southern border.

Now it was not just Mexicans affected!

Trump bungled the response to the Coronavirus Pandemic! He does not care that Covid-19 is running wild through the country! He does not care about all the people that have died! 

Coronavirus is a Beautiful Genocide. Sit back and watch it kill. No need for death camps. No need for washing hands. Inaction In Action!

American Citizens of Mexican descent took Donald Trump seriously. These Americans know that to a racist "A Mexican is a Mexican."  It does not matter if that person is born on American soil.

There is no such thing as a small enemy.

Donald Trump could have been stopped from the get go if people had cared about "Mexicans".

This Novemver 3,  2020 all Americans opposed to racism can vote against Billionaire Bigot Trump.

Would a reboot for The Brady Bunch work?

WE would suggest a CW-Style reboot. Call it "A Bunch Of Bradys".

MIKE would be making a ton of money designing dark, super secret buildings for the government.

CAROL would be a yoga instructor. Pretty harmless. Right?

MARCIA would be doing modeling after school. Working for a  dangerous photographer. The possibility of nastiness. Beware!

JAN would be Jan. Hints of self-harm. Low self esteem issues. An interest in ventriloquism.

CINDY would get involved with a gtoup of teen white supremacists called The Bigot Brigade. One day Carol would mention a Hispanic kid being attacked. Alice would find Cindy's bloodied combat boots in her room!

GREG would briefly consider returning to sing under the name of Johnny Bravo.

He would sing as GOYO opting for Spanish language hip hop and narco rap! Fame and Fotune follow!

BOBBY would be hanging around bad kids. Pranks. Maybe darker stuff.

PETER would have an eating disorder and no sense of direction.

ALICE would be doing private eye biz on the side.

SAM would establish his chain of meat markets called "Sam The Butcher Meat Market".  Hints of being a hitnan for the mob!

It would work!

BAGELS AND WATERMELON

The Coronavirus Pandemic has kept US close to home. WE only venture out to a Dollar General store, or a gasoline-convinience store when necessary. Those stores are 2 and 5 minutes away. Every now and then WE head for the WalMart or HEB supermarket that is about 3 miles or so away.

OIR eldest sister and her husband drop off groceries on Sunday.

This Sunday WE were thrilled to find that they had included bagels and a watermelon among the items!

Cool watermelon and bagels...Wow!

JULY 2020 WAS BRUTAL

The world is under attack by the Coronavirus Pandemic.

WE in the United States Of America are being hit the hardest because President Trump was slow to act. He dismissed this deadly killer as a hoax.

This is Trump's greateat LIE.

WE learned of OUR Aunt Yolanda being in a hospital with Covid-19. She is in McAllen, Texas. She is also battling leukemia.

OUR Cousin Johnny is also fighting for his life against Coronavirus. He is in an Edinburg, Texas hospital.

OUR youngest brother is a correctional officer at a Texas State prison. He usually works in Hidalgo County. 

He was working at a correctional facility in Kenedy County when Hurricane Hannah hit us.

He tested positive for Coronavirus. He is in quarantine for 14 days. He is worried about his wife and 5 kids.

OUR youngest sister is a police officer with the Edinburg, Texas Police Department. Last week she was dispatched to an attempted suicide. She talked the man down and took him into custody.  He is getting the help he needs.

The next day she was informed that man tested positive for Coronavirus.

She is in a 14

day quarantine. She complained about a sore throat. She might have Covid-19.

Texas has the 3rd largest number of Coronavirus cases in the nation.

This horrible pandemic is not a hoax.
