अप्प्ले STRUDEL
APPLE STRUDEL....YOU either LOVE IT OR HATE IT!
I remember when I was a child my father would bring home Butter Crust Apple Strudel. WE love it! That with a glass of cold milk would launch us into outerspace.
The years went by like supersonic seconds...minutes...hours...days..months...YEARS. I lost track of Butter Crust products. Is it gone forever?
No more Butter Crust Apple Strudel?
I found apple strudel at a VALERO convinience store this morning...single piece.
MEMORIES...SWEET MEMORIES FOR MY TASTE BUDS....but my friends on my tongue knew it was not Butter Crust!

$6.21 OF GASOLINE PLUS $15.00
IT has been a rough month. August is the month ELVIS passed on into the other Las Vegas. I will always remember that from childhood.
My brother and I care for my mother and father and our Aunt Alice who suffers from Alzheimers. We do the best we can with what we have and thank GOD for guiding us.
Our next door neighbor passed away on the 2nd of August from diabetes complications. Our Uncle Joe had stopped eating well and was not taking his meds. He and our Aunt Alice could not see eye to eye. He had made it clear as day that he did not want us around. It is a long and complicated story. One day WE will go down that road.
WE had $6.21 in bills and loose change. WE would have to make it work.
Payday is Friday. Thursday is light years away.
WE were about to take off..when we noticed a nurse looking our way...WHY?
She was chatting with the cashier. Small talk...but why look our way?
Her black SUV was parked outside the store door....to the right...She came out and went left...towards us as we began our roll towards the dark road. She asked if we were the ones that had just purchased $6 of gas. Yes was our answer and then she told us that she had just put $15 in our tank and to pump it. SHOCK AND AWE on our faces we thanked her and pumped the fuel into our truck.
WOW.
Just when you think humanity is strapped to a go-cart and headed for a fiery hellish concrete wall YOU get someone who is not on that ride.
MAY GOD REPAY HER 1000 TIMES.
I will do my best to do something for someone.
COUNT ON IT.
GOD BLESS THAT FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE.

TIO PEPE/UNCLE PEPE
It has been a long and chaotic week. WE buried our Uncle Pepe this Monday. Grieving comes in different forms. Just processing the fact that he is gone is quite a feat. I am still not there.
By this I mean: It feels odd when I look at his house and hear his canine bark. Knowing that he will not come of his abode and toss the cats some cat food or stomp off angry that we are walking our grandfather's ranch in the hot sun.
Obviously, I know he is buried....it just takes time.
GOD rest his soul.
I hope the Vietnam Vet has finally gotten his parade in Paradise.
